HRC presents a holistic approach to training.
Curated by a team of Black Women Wellness Professionals specializing in running, strength training, nutrition, recovery, and mindfulness.
What you get:
Weekly in-person distance training
Curated strength training resources
Monthly mindful virtual check-ins
Access to the Class of '24 private group chat with program coaches and fellow trainees
Throughout the season, we will offer additional à la carte workshops on nutrition, recovery, and strength for you to access based on your personal needs.
Program Elements

Led by Nadia Cordick
Group Long Runs: Build endurance and mental resilience with essential long runs.
Speed Workouts: Learn various running techniques including mixed-zone runs, zone 2 specific running, fartlek runs, tempo runs, progression runs, hill training, and stair training.
Weekly Sessions: Join us every Saturday morning at 8 am for in-person training.
In-Person + Online Resources: Access a combination of in-person and online resources to support your training journey.

Strength Training: Improve running form, prevent injuries, and enhance overall strength and stability with targeted exercises for key muscle groups.

Nutrition and Hydration Guidance: Get guidance on pre- and post-run nutrition, hydration strategies, and fueling during long runs.

Recovery Techniques: Integrating yoga, breathwork, and stretching techniques to support your body's recovery and rejuvenation.

Guided mindfulness practices: Participants will learn to cultivate present-moment awareness, manage pre-race jitters, and optimize focus and concentration during training and on race day.
Explores various mindfulness techniques: Goal setting, body scans, visualization exercises and reflective journaling.
Develop resilience, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. Get to the finish with calmness, clarity, and confidence.
Monthly Sessions: Monday at 6 pm for virtual check ins once a month

Who is this for?
If you're a self-identifying Black woman runner seeking to train for an upcoming race or looking for a supportive community to achieve your fitness goals, this program is right for you.
HRC Training is ideal for training for Spring, Summer, and Fall Races, including 10k, 1/2, and Full Marathon distances.

What to expect
Progressive Training Schedule:
This is a progressive schedule that gradually increases mileage and intensity over time, allowing you to safely build endurance and strength without risking injury.
Race-Specific Preparation:
As your race approaches, we will support you with race-specific preparation, such as simulated long runs at goal race pace, tapering periods to rest and recover, and mental preparation strategies for race day.
Support and Guidance:
Get support and guidance from experienced coaches and mentors, through group training sessions, and online resources.
HRC Training will help you stay motivated, accountable, and confident throughout their training journey.
The commitment
Weekly In-person group training (Joel Weeks Park): Saturdays @ 8 am
Virtual Workshops and Check-Ins
Expect to train 2-4 additional days on your own
Expect to train in any and all conditions (rain, wind, hot or cool weather)
Expect the training to be ‘intense’ in nature
Expect this to be challenging but not impossible
