Meet Allison Hill
Allison Hill (she/her) is the Owner of Hill Studio, a Salon and Wellness Hub for Black Women in Toronto, Canada.
Allison, also a licensed hair stylist, gained her BBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Oakwood University in 2007.
Combining her education and passion for the hair industry, Allison opened Hill Studio in 2016, recently awarded the 2019 Buy Black award for Best Salon.
Motivated to activate her community, Allison has turned Hill Studio into a force. In 2021 Allison was voted one of the Top 100 Women to Watch in Canada by CIBWE.
Hill Studio’s slogan, “Good Energy, Good Hair” encompasses Hill Studio Salon, and Wellness initiatives: Hill Insider, Restore and Hill Run Club.
To address a barrier to access, in 2020 Allison launched Restore. Education, clinics and activations that cultivate hope, health, joy and community. Led by a team of Black Counsellors, Therapists and trauma informed Yoga Instructors delivering strategic antiracism initiatives.
Restore has proudly served over 3000 racialized folks and allies through free or low cost wellness clinics with partnerships like, UofT and CAMH.
Allison has been featured in over 7 national publications including Cityline and CBC The Current for her work in the Black Community.
